portland to vancouver canada and back

despite the hustle and bustle of a very busy four months for me - working and traveling to various places, visiting friends and vice versa - i was still able to play hard this summer. two weeks after my simple but glorious time in vancouver canada, my friend elisse, her husband, along with two other friends and their toddler, made their way to portland.  how crazy is that? double dose of my vegas roomie!  unfortunately, their trip was a short notice to me so i was not able to take time off, plus my director was already out those days due to her daughter's birthday.

regardless of a busy work week, i managed to hang out with elisse and her friends two nights in a row.  it was a total food and laughter gig while she was in town.  though time was very limited, i enjoyed being able to take them to some of my favorite spots in the city, especially restaurants.
elisse and i met through blogging a couple of years ago.  we met in vegas for the first time last year and i am glad that no matter how busy our lives get, we have managed to get out of our daily responsibilities so we can come out and play together.  i cannot stress how much i appreciate when people make the time to get together.  i understand that sometimes life gets in the way, but i have also experienced that some people always expect me to come out their way because i love to travel.  there is a lot of truth to that, but that doesn't mean i don't love out of town visitors as well.  thank you elisse for such a wonderful time ... double the fun this year!

  3. How awesome what it to see Elisse twice this year? You guys are luck that you live on the same coast to be able to make a quick visit cross the border. I will admit that I was jealous when I Face Time'd with you guys, and seeing all your photos. Hopefully we will get to see each other again real soon.

  4. Awesome! It is so important to spend time with the people close to us. It's an amazing feeling for someone to travel great distances just to spend time with you too! Great pics !

  6. We had the best summer, right?! You're right - it's all about the effort, and we're alike in our beliefs about this. Until next year!!!
