blogger appreciation award

[via]

i am always grateful for my blogger peers giving me some type of award.  it's not so much of the "award", but it's the support and friendship from the many beautiful women that i interact with on the blogosphere.  women supporting other women is an amazing concept.  this award is courtesy of two lovely ladies, kelly and dre.  as always, there are strings attached, a.k.a. questions.  so here they are:

how long have you been blogging?  wow, i had to look on my blogger profile for that information.  it says, i've been blogging since november 2009, so it's been a minute now.

what are 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?  my friends lauren and tine inspired me to blog.  i enjoyed reading their every day living.  i thought at first i'd have the same kind of blog, mine didn't turn out like that as i decided it wouldn't be like a diary of my day to day life.  it turned out to be about everything i liked, past, present, future, dreams, heartbreaks, travel, favorite books, movies, etc. - most of all, my journey to living life instead of looking from the outside.  i also like to write, it helps me reflect on many things.  i never thought i'd meet amazing people through it, some who i can really call friends and sisters, family.

what types of blogs do you like to follow or read?  i have a wide range of interest, from life blogs to beauty, fashion, thoughts, reflections, travel, love/relationships, food - as long as i can see or have a sense of the writer's pulse, i will read it.  there's just some blogs where i can't tell who the author is and what they're really like, those don't really interest me.

what is one thing you would like to improve about your blog or as a blogger?  i haven't really thought about that.  i remember being asked this question, well, at least something like this earlier this year.  i don't think i had an answer to it, only because i really blog for myself.  maybe i will try to reply to comments on here more, but since almost all of my blog friends are on twitter, i respond over there more than i do here.  but one thing i do want to keep doing is that every november (thanksgiving is my favorite holiday), i do a featured series (it varies) to recognize new and long-time bloggers.

i am not going to name each person who has been there for me since day one, you all know who you are, so this blogger appreciation award is for you all.  to those i just met and encountered recently, looking forward to this awesome journey.  much love.

  1. It's so true! I'm amazed at the friendships I've made through blogging. Three incredible girl friends are coming out to visit (again) in 3 weeks, all of whom I met through blogging. I never would have thought! I really am so grateful for everything that's come from this community.

  3. that's awesome and i mirror a lot of your thoughts here. Especially the one about "hearing a writer's pulse". So crucial! I love all types of blogs but the one main component to keep me coming back needs to be YOU in your words. I love that.
