asian sensation: what happens in vegas ...

i finally had some time to sit down and write about my vegas birthday/ladies weekend since it rained on sunday, yes, rain. boo.  now i can finally write about the reservations some of my homies had about this trip.  i understand, they're just looking out for me, but i didn't feel like writing it before the trip actually happened cause i personally was not anxious or nervous about it.  they were.  their concerns were nothing outrageous but they really thought that at some point, there will some type of drama, that everyone was not being honest in one way or another on who they really were.  then there was, "really? you're sharing a room with someone you haven't met?",  "what? you paid for the hotel room? what if she doesn't pay you back?", "what if they steal your stuff?", etcetera, etcetera. the biggest concern of all was that why would i choose to celebrate my birthday with people i'm meeting for the first time.  my argument was, "i was the girl who fell in love with portland after visiting for a day and a half.  two months later i gave my notice at work, packed my bags, left in the middle of graduate school and moved to a place where i knew no one."  yea, i won that argument!  and so what if it didn't work out, it's vegas baby! the independent person that i am will always find something to do, and in vegas, there are tons of opportunities!  but, that was not the case because it was the UNBELIEVABLE AWESOME.

our flights arrived one after the other, with elisse being the first, me second, leesh and maur third, then kat and steph.  i still remember walking to baggage claim #9 and i couldn't find elisse (all of us ladies have each other's digits, whatsapp app, twitter - yea, we're THAT connected) - then i heard her call my name and i swear, it was like meeting a long lost sister.  we hugged about five or six times, and it wasn't one of those phony hugs - i mean, we {hugged}.  then came leesh and maur maybe about a half hour or so later.  it's funny how my vlogs have helped maur recognize my voice from afar.  apparently, i was yapping loudly.  we were so excited and basically met kat and steph right as they got off the escalator, okay, maybe not at the bottom like a stalker, but nearby.  then our adventures began.

beware of photo overload.

[heck yea, we goin' to take las vegas in style.  did you expect anything less? i hope not.]
[well, what are we waiting for? let's get this party started!]
[steph and i in deep conversation about her dog, jelly.  i wasn't doing a stare down, who the eff are you look.]
[dinner on friday night @ isla]
[TAO club at the venetian.  maur got us VIP connections, open bar, open bar, open bar  - did i already say open bar?!]
[he crashed our party.  apparently it's his birthday, too.  he's 23.  such a baby.]
[he brought some friends.  they're from san jose, california - i guess they're my homies, too!]
[the birthday ladies]
[cheers! vegas, baby!]
[leesh, the woman is sports bangs like it's nobody's business.  she inspired me to have bangs late last year.]
[i swear, that's not me.  i won't be caught in floral & light wash jeans.  and def not in vegas.]
[is she leaning cause it's hammer time or are we just having too much fun? whatya think?]
[G was our connection at marquee, one of vegas' newest clubs.  it had stairs like it's goin' out of style]
[elisse and i had the same nails, bought the same watch (hers in gold, mine in silver), we also snagged kate spade iphone 4 covers (steph got one, too!) and we have the same canon point and shoot camera - hers is black, mine is red]
[my new kick ass scarf - a birthday present from elisse]
[and kobe bryant was there, too! HA!]

this trip is goin' in the books as one of the best birthdays ever!
thank you ladies for being a part of it!
[and it's looking like miami or chi town next year, no?]
