street scenes: young love and technology (san jose, costa rica)

i know, you must think i'm a stalker taking all these photos of unknowing people.  i really am not, i promise.  i just want to capture moments, life and pulse of this little town while exercising my creativity.  this is probably my favorite shoot {feeling like a professional photographer here} of all.  i love the second and third pictures because it shows their innocence and youth, then you'll see how technology kicks in on the other photos - most of you already know how i feel about texting, facebooking, two phones and a pager {as the lovely H would agree}, so i shall not repeat myself here, LOL.

anyway - these types of shoots are my favorite to photograph.  they are quite challenging because they're not staged and you need to find a subject or two that's at the right place at the right time.

{photos were taken with nikon d80 18-200mm VR lens}

  2. This is the best kind of travel photography, the kind that features every day life. I love the challenge of taking these kinds of photos. Not only do you have to have an eye for these moments, but you have to know how to frame the shot while being discrete so that you can capture that million dollar image. Love it!

  8. Is there anything else that you don't do? J/K. These are great shots, I love the fact that you chose or had in mind this "young love" scene. I can't help notice that young boy's still got the bling going. Either I'm old, or he's not up to speed that blings these days no longer scream cool. But, that's just me. Peace.
